My Clubs.

As well as performing, I run circuit of boutique, independent comedy clubs. From humble beginnings back in 1994, Kill for a Seat Comedy has hosted gigs and festivals across England and Wales, with emphasis on theatres and Arts Centres, including the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Clwyd Theatr Cymru. Since we opened our doors, Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Ross Noble, Jimmy Carr, John Bishop, Rob Brydon, Shappi Khorsandi, Lucy Porter and many more familiar faces have graced our stages.

I aim for my clubs to be the best they can be for all concerned. For the audience, for the performers, for the venues. It’s kind of an Organic idea. No pesticides or GM here: free range comedians and lush venues, coupled with year-round sunny audiences making for really great events.

WHAT VENUES SAY ABOUT KILL FOR A SEAT

William James, Associate Director: Plays & Touring, Clwyd Theatr Cymru

“Kill for a Seat has been running a sell-out comedy club for us at Clwyd Theatr Cymru for nearly five years. Silky is an exceptional promoter: the quality of the programme is always very high and his personal care and attention is frankly amazing – he looks after his audience just as well as the comics. A lovely guy and a very funny man – highly recommended.”

Penny Sanders, Programme Director, Seven Arts, Leeds

“Since its opening in July 2007, Kill For A Seat comedy night has been a cornerstone event in the Seven Arts programme with sell-out audiences month after month. Acts are of a consistently high standard and I love the way Silky juxtaposes new and upcoming comedians between established names. The anticipation of never knowing quite what to expect is what keeps me and Silky’s many other followers coming back for more.”

Ben Franco, Director, Franco’s Restaurant (previously NoSH)

“Silky has been packing our restaurant for over 14 years with his comedy night. Always delivers, always goes one step further.. He is unique and outrageous, musical & original: we had to reinforce the floor after one of his shows”
